Swarm War?

My brother and I were going down to our pond on our 20 acre farm near Woodbury TN. Well, maybe I should tell you that my brother has 3 hives on the other side of the pond. Anyway we were just getting to the pond when we heard a huge whirring noise, it kinda scared us at first cause we didn't know what it was. We looked behind us and out of the grass came a huge swarm of bees, they were going over to the hives, and right away it seemed they were fighting the home bees.

The next day we had a lot of dead bees in front of the hives.

I've read of Africanized bees attacking hives and taking them over, but this is the first time I've actually heard of it happening, it sounds pretty scary.
