It’s unusual to see a colony in an observation hive swarming, a normal observation hive is probably too small to generate a swarm. This observation hive is an ‘Ulster’ which has six frames in the body of the hive and a seventh frame on top. Here is the video of the swarm leaving the hive.




Since the swarm clustered close by I was able to collect them in another nuc and I hope they’ll grow into a colony large enough to produce some honeycomb.
