Honey Up To The Ears!

by Alfredo Collazos Ortiz
(Neiva-Huila-Colombia)

It is curious, but of all the nests of bees that my brother and I could have found, the one which caught our attention was inside a statue.

Fortunately, it was a replica of a pre-Columbian sculpture, but how to get the bees out alive, without breaking the statue?

The truth was that the owner was so excited about the bees and authorized us to open the statue and surprise, surprise! The statue had honey up to the ears of the stone figure.

The honey was sold by the owner of the statue and used to buy a replacement and we have this beautiful statue to allow our bees to nest.
