Pinesol
by: Anonymous

We tried Pinesol in bowls around swimming pool with no luck. While we hated the smell, bees kept swarming (in two corners) of our swimming pool as usually. We wish we could find something that would work...

[Try providing some water away from the pool with water plants which the bees can land on. If they can find water more easily elsewhere they may stay away fro the pool.]

Anything bees don't like?
by: Anonymous

Is there anything bees don't like - I have been told vinegar and Pinesol but haven't tried it yet.

I would like to use something on the edge of the pool to encourage them to go somewhere else. We also have a basketball goal that sits by the pool and for some reason they are crazy about that as well. It has a large white plastic bottom and water seems to leak out and attract them.

I know we need bees in the environment but they really are driving us nuts!!! We also tried burning our fire pit yesterday and it didn't seem to bother them at all!!!

[Try the vinegar and Pinesol by all means, but I don't think putting anything on the side of the pool will make a scrap of difference. It would be washed off very quickly by the splashing from the pool.]
