Here’s a list of beekeepers who conduct swarm removal in Arizona. These are the people to call if you think you have a problem. They should be able to tell you whether you really have a problem, and what the options are.
Not all people will offer the same types of services, be prepared to pay for their work, these are specialized procedures requiring a great deal of skill and experience.
Bees-on-the-Net is not responsible for these services.

American Bee Control
Tucson AZ 85710
We have been removing bees alive from commercial sites, public facilities and private homes since 1968.
Each colony is given a permanent hive box where they can prosper in a safe and managed environment, including a selective breeding program geared to achieving a disease-resistant, docile, productive line of honey bees.
Please see our website for details on our proprietary technologies that collect bees alive unlike any other methods used in the USA.
We guarantee satisfaction and complete capture of all bees.
ABC removes the comb from inside the nest to ensure the site won’t be attractive to other colonies looking to set up their future home.

What began as a hobby quickly blossomed into a successful and rewarding small business. Dan Punch had been performing live bee removals & relocations during his free time on nights and weekends while working full-time as the head beekeeper at the Arizona State University Honeybee Research Facility at ASU’s Polytechnic campus in Mesa, AZ. After a very busy season, Dan officially established Punch Honeybee Company in the spring of 2014.
In August of 2014, Dan partnered with his predecessor at ASU, Nick Baker. Nick shares a passion for honeybees having obtained his Master of Science in Biology from ASU during his 8 year tenure at the ASU Honeybee Research Lab. Together they share a love and knowledge of honeybees, bee behavior, construction/remodeling, and of course the taste for honey, to make Punch Honeybee Company a unique business that not only works to save the honeybee, but also to educate people about these fascinating creatures.
Dan and Nick are experts when it comes to “Africanized” bees and their behavior and are extremely successful in their relocation. They have developed their own methods and tools that they use to safely and humanely extract colonies ALIVE from almost any structure or situation. They are currently researching and developing methods with former colleagues in which they can use the Africanized honeybee to combat Colony Collapse Disorder. To date, Punch Honeybee has rescued over 500 bee colonies from homes and businesses throughout the valley. All of the bee colonies they rescue, relocate, and maintain are kept on farms all over the Phoenix and surrounding areas. Punch Honeybee is a member of the Beekeepers Association of Central Arizona (BACA) and the Organic Beekeepers Group. Dan and Nick maintain all of their honeybee colonies without the use of antibiotics or chemicals. Forty percent of revenue from all sales and services is used to purchase equipment to house and to maintain their current and future bee colonies.
Please feel free to call us anytime with questions regarding bees, their relocation, or to purchase honey and beeswax products.
Try to give the beekeeper as much information as you can about the location of the swarm, height above the ground, length of time they have been there and whether there are any special circumstances you think might be relevant.
People are often concerned that bee swarms they see may be Africanized bees, the so called killer bees. When bees swarm it’s very difficult to tell their origin, even Africanized bees are usually docile when they are swarming, be cautious and call an expert.
Many people believe that local honey is beneficial for allergies. While I’m not sure there is any clinical proof of this, I can see there might some sort of homeopathic effect.
Finding true local honey, which incidentally is delicious, can sometimes be difficult but contacting people on this list might be a good place to start if you’re looking for pure Arizona honey. Although Arizona bees are basically the same as bees in any other states, the honey they make will be determined by the local plants. The flavor of the honey is usually a combination of nectar from many different plants
Please tell the beekeeper when you call, that you found them on the Bees-on-the-Net Swarm List.
To be added to the Beekeepers page for your state please go here and complete the form.
If there appear to be no Arizona beekeepers near you, try looking on pages for neighboring states, or check Arizona beekeeping groups or clubs. You could also try contacting the Arizona department of agriculture. If all else fails you could try contacting Arizona pest control companies or Arizona exterminators.
