Ignore the Weather think of the Spring to Come!
January 22, 2010
Hi

Most parts of the United States are suffering from very bad weather of one type or other at the moment. Even here in Southern California we're experiencing record levels of rainfall with high winds and the consequential flooding and mud slides.

It occurred to me that those of us who are interested in bees and beekeeping might be cheered up by thinking of the spring, it seems a long time away, but really it will be here before we know it. Let's hope that all bee colonies, both wild and in hives, are huddled together and eating their stored honey to keep warm. Now will be a test of their work last summer and autumn when they collected propolis to weather-proof their hives.

With that in mind I've compiled a new collection of beekeeping and bee removal photos.

Scroll to the last picture on the Bees-on-the-Net Photo Gallery page, click on the photo of the bees on a wild honeycomb. This will take you to a Picasa album of our photos. There you can view a slide-show of all the photos, or look at them one by one and even share them with your friends.

I hope you enjoy the photos and they lift your spirits. Before the spring is upon us I will be sending more information about the forthcoming bee season.

Best regards.
